Write Mode Basics

Learn how to use Write Mode to draft your content with AI assistance.

Write Mode Basics

Write Mode is where your ideas become content. With your structure in place, you can focus on writing. With an AI ready to help when you need it.

How Write Mode Works

  1. Start with structure - Your outline becomes the writing framework
  2. Write section by section - Focus on one part at a time
  3. Get AI help - Request suggestions when you’re stuck
  4. Review as you go - The AI learns your voice from what you write

The Writing Interface

The Editor

A clean, distraction-free editor with:

  • Rich text formatting (bold, italic, headings)
  • Markdown shortcuts for power users
  • Section navigation from your outline

The AI Panel

Opens when you need help:

  • Continue writing - Get the next sentence or paragraph
  • Rephrase - Alternative ways to say something
  • Expand - Add more detail to a point
  • Simplify - Make complex text clearer

Tips for Better Writing

Write First, Edit Later

Don’t try to make every sentence perfect on the first pass. Get ideas down, then refine.

Use AI for Momentum

When you’re stuck, let AI get you moving. You can always edit what it generates.

Follow Your Outline

Your outline is your map. Trust the structure you created.

Take Breaks

Long writing sessions lead to fatigue. Write in focused bursts.

Moving to Review

When your draft is complete:

  1. Click Review in the mode switcher
  2. Get AI feedback on your entire document
  3. Use Read Aloud to hear how it sounds
