Brainstorm Mode Basics
Learn how to use Brainstorm Mode to generate ideas, explore angles, and overcome writer's block.
Brainstorm Mode Basics
Brainstorm Mode helps you generate ideas and find the right angle for your content. Instead of staring at a blank page, you start with possibilities.
How Brainstorm Mode Works
- Enter your topic - Type what you want to write about
- BlueTip generates ideas - Get multiple angles, hooks, and directions
- Rate suggestions - Thumbs up ideas you like, thumbs down ones that don’t fit
- Refine and explore - The AI learns and generates better suggestions
Starting a Brainstorm
From a Topic
Enter a topic in the brainstorm input:
- “productivity tips for developers”
- “how to choose a CRM”
- “welcome email sequence”
BlueTip generates 5-10 different angles for your topic.
From a Question
Frame your topic as a question:
- “Why do startups fail?”
- “What makes remote work successful?”
- “How can small businesses compete with enterprises?”
Questions often lead to more focused suggestions.
From a Goal
Describe what you want to achieve:
- “convince readers to try meal prepping”
- “explain our new pricing to customers”
- “generate leads for our consulting service”
BlueTip tailors ideas to your objective.
Rating Suggestions
Each suggestion has thumbs up and thumbs down buttons:
- Thumbs up - Moves the idea to your favorites and helps BlueTip learn
- Thumbs down - Hides the idea and improves future suggestions
Rate quickly based on gut feeling. You can always change your mind later.
Moving to the Next Stage
Once you have an angle you like:
- Click on your favorite idea
- Select Create Outline to move to Outline Mode
- BlueTip structures your content around that angle
Or continue brainstorming to explore more possibilities.
Tips for Better Brainstorming
Be Specific
Vague: “write about marketing” Better: “write about email marketing for B2B SaaS companies”
The more context you provide, the more targeted the suggestions.
Try Multiple Inputs
Enter the same topic different ways:
- As a topic: “remote work productivity”
- As a question: “How do I stay productive working from home?”
- As a goal: “help remote workers avoid burnout”
Each framing generates different ideas.
Use Constraints
Add constraints to spark creativity:
- “productivity tips that don’t require apps”
- “email marketing without being spammy”
- “content ideas for a 5-minute read”
Constraints often lead to more original angles.
